Clarification on Enrollment Status

Approval of this exception:

Does not grant full-time enrollment status with the Graduate College.
Applies only to GA eligibility under Policy 7170.
Is separate from GA work obligations, which are based on hours—not enrollment.
Does not override other enrollment policies. Your degree program may have its own enrollment requirements for GAs, and this exception does not exempt you from those.
If you are an international student, you must also coordinate with International Admissions to ensure compliance with all visa-related enrollment requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, you must:

Be in your final semester.
Be enrolled in fewer than 5 graduate credits, but still completing all degree requirements.
Meet all other GA obligations (e.g., required work hours, satisfactory performance).
Have not received this exception previously.
