“I decided to change majors from history to Criminal Justice and they only had a two year program at ISU, so that was one of the reasons I decided to transfer to Boise State. On the Boise end, the whole process was so awesome – it was clear cut and easy to transfer. First, the web site answered most of my questions, and when I called, the people here were so friendly and cheerful and willing to spend time helping.
All of my previous credits transferred into some area to fulfill degree requirements, so it didn't set me back at all. Once I got here, the Transfer Orientation program helped so much because I didn't’t feel alone and so many people were there to help me. There were different sessions to attend, plus they gave a campus tour, had my transcript evaluation ready, and I met with my advisor. The whole thing really helped me get over the shock of going to a new school. It’s great to have those absorbent, anti-shock moments.
My advice for transfer students: Make sure you have all your transcripts and information, and don’t rush the process. Then once you get here, get involved on campus and relax. You’re not alone, and everyone is here to help you. It was a good surprise for me to see how easy it was to go through the process. Everything is clean and easy and leaves time to enjoy the actual college experience."
