Boise State provides excellent opportunities to experience college life. Mirando Adelante and Culture of Success are annual campus visitation programs for Hispanic and African-American high school students. Students from all backgrounds are invited to participate in these programs. Also, Boise State student organizations and academic departments produce outstanding cultural programs that are attended by the entire community.

Culture of Success

Black to the Future - Click to enlarge image"Culture of Success" promotes higher education to African-American students and provides a great opportunity to experience "college life." Students attend a university class, take a campus tour, attend a panel presentation, participate in an African-American trivia game, and receive information on scholarship opportunities. Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de MayoOur Cinco de Mayo fiesta includes live Latino music, a lowrider car and bike show, a Ms. Cinco de Mayo contest, traditional Mexican folkloric entertainment, and savory Mexican food! The Boise State Student Union is the site of our annual fiesta. Come and see what a fantastic program Boise State's Organizacion de Estudiantes Latino-Americanos (OELA) puts on for our community. Human Rights Week

Human Rights WeekJoin hundreds in support of Idaho Human Rights and march down Capitol Boulevard to the Idaho State Capitol. The annual march starts a two-week program that delves into Human Rights issues affecting all Idahoans. Typically, the program includes civil rights speakers, open discussions on human rights issues, and cultural entertainment. International Festival

International FestivalTake a trip around the world without leaving Boise! Boise State's annual Food, Song & Dance Festival provides a tasty opportunity to explore fine cuisine from different continents. Besides wonderful food you'll be entertained by cultural dancing that spans the globe. Lu'au

Lu'auJoin us for a night of cultural celebration in "The Spirit of Hawaii." Boise State students and the local community enjoy mouth-watering kalua pig and poke, and for entertainment there's hula dancing.
